Hosting:

Your web site is completed, but how does it get onto the Internet?  There are a couple of things I must do in order for this process to occur.

1. Domain Name this is you World Wide Web name e.g. www.fester-lloyd.com  This name must be registered with a hosting company and renewed annually.
2. Host Company this is an independant company that allows your web site to be stored on their Surver (like a hard disk) for a small fee annually.  NB:  The amount of disk space required depends on price charged e.g. If you require 50 Giga Bytes of disk space with 25 E-mail accounts then you would be charged accordingly.

At the moment I guess your a little confused, let me make it a little simpler.  Below are just examples of what it may cost.

• Domain name cost between $15 - $35 annually
• Average Hosting $90 - $160 annually
• One off setup fee $10

The above prices are only a guide larger site will cost more whereas, smaller site will cost less.

Usually, I arrange the domain name and hosting.  However, if you wish you can take this upon yourself to seek a better deal.  However, I use a company called SmarArtstist www.smartartist.com.au  which I find delivers good service and a reasonable price.
